A.  Budget for fy08

    At its Sept. 5 meeting, the Board postponed consideration of the fy08 budget pending the updating of the Agricultural Experiment Stations' budget to be consistent with the new Researchers' Salary Schedule and Guidelines that the Board also adopted during this meeting.  (See Directives of Sept. 5 meeting for details).

    The Board also authorized a one quarter fy08 budget (Oct. 1 to Dec. 31) in order to ensure uninterrupted operation until the Board approves the full  fy08 budget.

B.  Budget for fy07

    The fy07 budget is currently in place.  However, some developments that came about as a result of the federal government actions, particularly in connection with the increased amount of Hatch fund, are being taken into consideration as we are trying to adjust the budget accordingly.

    COM also had to request USDA for certain amount of waiver from the local matching requirement.  We expect to hear from USDA about our request in the next couple of weeks, certainly  before the end of September.

C.  Fund Balances

    Business Manager/Fiscal Officer is monitoring fund balances closely and will be confirming and reporting them out in the near future.
